This fabulous converted Women’s Institute (WI) hall boasts light, comfort, and imagination in spades. You really must stay here for a holiday you’ll still be talking about months after you’ve returned home!. Ground Floor:

An imaginatively converted, dog friendly old Women’s Institute Hall, filled with your creature comforts and beautifully positioned in the rural village of Kilvington 8 miles south of Newark. The Hall lies within the Vale of Belvoir, close to the junction with the counties of Leicestershire and Lincolnshire. The historic, creatively converted hall is a wonderful base from which to explore not only the close by villages, but also the nearby Belvoir Castle and directly across the road from the fabulous Kilvington Lakes. Sleeping up to four guests and two well-behaved dogs, the detached building boasts light, comfort, and imagination in spades. As you enter into the hallway and open the doors you will be greeted by an amazing double height room with exposed beams and light flooding through from both sides into this large, sociable space, with far reaching view to Belvoir Castle. This part of the property even boasts the original wooden floors. You’ll find a double bedroom positioned on the ground floor, along with a stylish, modern bathroom. Then the real magic happens, the owner has extended the hall to add a state-of-the-art kitchen with island for gathering around. Also comfy sofas and French doors leading to a courtyard seating area.

From the kitchen there is a staircase to a mezzanine bedroom with two single beds. This really is a wow room!

After a serene morning spent over fresh coffee and gentle conversation, why not take one of the many footpaths you’ll discover in the surrounding area, and find out where it leads? Access to private 5 acre orchard to rear of the property. Nearby you will discover The Vale of Belvoir which is being considered as the next Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and when you visit you will see why with quintessential pubs, churches, canals, and hamlets surrounded by wonderful countryside and all dominated by the awe-inspiring Belvoir Castle.

Kilvington Lakes is a must with its 3 lakes and being famous for twitchers, located a stone’s throw from the hall. Angling is also very popular with the day passes on the lakes and reservoir of Belvoir Estates and Rutland Water. Within a 30-minute drive of The Old WI Hall is the magnificent Belton House with its Swiss chalet style Boat House, Bellmount Tower and the well-kept landscapes of Londonthorpe Wood. The award winning Staunton Arms pub is in the region of 1 mile away.

Other properties include The National Trust Woolsthorpe Manor, the birthplace of Sir Isaac Newton, Easton Walled Gardens and Grimsthorpe Castle, both members of Historic Houses. Alternative ideas include a day at Twinlakes Park, a ride on the Great Central Railway or cycling and boating at Rutland Water. Market towns within a similar 30-minute drive include Melton Mowbray home to the famous pork pie.
