Accommodation

Elgar Cottage is one of 3 cottages converted to an exceptional standard from a former stable block. The cottages, each with its own unique style, are arranged around a courtyard and situated in a stunning 14 acres of parkland. There are views of the parkland from every room in this pretty rural retreat.

This lovely holiday home for two creates a luxurious yet welcoming feel. Furnishings are of a high quality, rooms are spacious, and there are large windows that let the sunlight flood in. The cosy sitting-room provides lots of comfortable seating - a thick-cushioned 3 seater sofa and 2 armchairs, a pretty rug and fireplace and it is equipped with TV, DVD and CD player, as well as Wi-Fi broadband which you can access by bringing your own laptop. Whether you've been walking, canoeing or abseiling all day, or if you simply to spend the day curled up with a good book - you'll find it easy to relax in these comfortable surroundings. Adjoining the living space is a dining area where you can enjoy a romantic supper and relive the day's events.

The kitchen enjoys lovely views towards the Hope Mansel Valley, and is equipped with oven, microwave, dishwasher and fridge freezer. There is a laundry room shared with the other cottages and also the option of 48-hour laundry service so you can take a break from the chores.

This one-bedroomed cottage has stairs leading up to the landing from where a galleried space provides a seating area. Off this is the truly lovely bedroom where a canopied four-poster bed, clothed in luxury bedlinen of Egyptian cotton, provides a comfortable night's sleep. A cot is also provided if required - this cottage is equally suited to a couple with a baby. The ensuite has a bath, shower, wash hand basin and WC. The bathroom is furnished with a handmade vanity unit, fluffy towels and bathrobes and White Company toiletries for that long, indulgent soak.

Outside the cottage is the beautiful Italianate garden and glasshouse, a peaceful place to sit and read - all cottage guests are welcome to use this space. In the garden, ponds are home to all sorts of wildlife - dragonflies and bees and the occasional visiting heron. After supper there are walks from your doorstep through beautiful parkland where you can watch the sunset over the hills - the perfect end to a perfect day in this gem of a cottage in Herefordshire.
