The holiday cottage is situated just outside of the village of Baschurch which is set near to Shrewsbury and Ellesmere. Baschurch offers pubs, takeaways, churches, a large convenience store and cash point. The local bus, that operates between Shrewsbury and Ellesmere, collects and drops off on Springfield Barns main drive allowing guests to leave the car behind.
Shropshire is a gem of a county with so much to explore within easy reach. The north of the county offers the meres, mosses and canals along with the county town of Shrewsbury. Whereas the south of the county offers the stunning Shropshire Hills and food renowned market town of Ludlow. The county is home to Ironbridge World Heritage Site and Pontcysyllte Aqueduct and Canal World Heritage Site and nine National Trust sites including Attingham Park.
Shrewsbury is the birthplace of Charles Darwin and is a wonder of medieval black and white buildings. The town offers fantastic dining, individual shops, craft markets, museums, art galleries and the stunning Dingle within the Quarry Park. The barn is set within the boundary of the owner’s grounds and it neighbours the owners’ property on one side and The Dairy (ref UK10957) on the other side. There is private parking set at the bottom of the garden and the property is accessed through the garden via a gravel path to the front door.
From the front door you walk into the vaulted open plan living area with beautifully restored original exposed beams. A relaxing lounge area with a 50” TV and multi-fuel wood burner, perfect for cosy nights in. The dining area accommodates four diners to allow for social dining when The Parlour is booked with The Dairy.
The living space leads you through into the fully fitted and well-equipped kitchen which includes a dishwasher and large fridge/freezer. There is a separate utility room with washing machine and large pantry. The vaulted bedroom with its exposed beams includes a well-presented feature oak bed and has an en-suite shower room which includes a large double shower cubicle. The spacious garden is equipped with a wooden table and chairs to seat up to four people and BBQ set. The lockable shed within the garden is suitable for storing bikes. There is a 2 acre field which guests can also enjoy. This is shared with the owners and other guests. Shop 2½ miles, pub and restaurant 700 yards.
