Thorncliffe Cottage is a wonderfully traditional stone built, mid terraced property which can be found on a quiet lane in the popular Peak District village of Tideswell. Set within the heart of the National Park, this light, bright and airy cottage is well-furnished and equipped with thoughtful extras. Built over four floors it benefits from a superb wood burning stove in the living room making for warm and cosy winter evenings. The split level patio to the rear of the property offers lovely views, catches the sun throughout the day and is fully enclosed for perfect, relaxing, warm summer months.
Tideswell itself is a bustling village made up of narrow alleys, lanes and roads set around character squares. Best known as home to the Cathedral of the Peak, it has a thriving range of local shops and amenities including a selection of good, local, pet friendly food serving pubs. Perfectly suited to lovers of the great outdoors, a selection of walking trails are available to take you in and around the village and local area, and there is fishing and golf nearby. The traffic free Monsal Trail, which runs from Bakewell to Buxton, can be reached through Tideswell Dale (cycle hire is available a 10-minute drive away), and both the Pennine Way and Limestone Way are nearby.
The spa town of Buxton and market town of Bakewell are both around a 15-minute drive, as are a selection of other Peak District towns and villages such as Eyam, Castleton and Hathersage. Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall can be reached in under half an hour, and Ashbourne and Alton Towers in under an hour. Shop 350 yards, pub and restaurant 175 yards.
