Seahouses on the Northumberland coast offers surfing, sailing, and snorkelling tuition and bicycles can be hired to do a bit of exploring the coast. Plenty of variety is provided if you like to golf. There are 5 golf courses within 20 miles of The Bunkhouse varying from coastal links courses to hilly inland courses. There is something to suit everyone.
There are many opportunities for fishing. Stocked fishing lakes are within walking distance. Sea & river fishing nearby.
Birdwatchers will be in paradise. Between the opportunities to spot native and migrating species in the Northumberland National Park area to coastal species such as puffins and terns up and down the length of the county they will be spoiled for choice.
At the end of a busy day returning to the The Bunkhouse will be like returning home. It is an ideal base from which guest can explore the gorgeous countryside whilst living simply. There is seating around a big table in the open plan kitchen/living area. Imagine cooking in the kitchen that has been built around a former forge! The whole group can be either chatting or helping in this great space. If you decide that you might like to have an evening out then it is a short stroll to Chatton Village and perhaps dinner or a drink at the Percy Arms public house. Traditional country charm, good food and warm friendly staff are sure to tick all the boxes.
The Bunkhouse is the perfect location if you have a group. Whether it’s’ friends who all enjoy the outdoors, a couple of families with plenty of children or even just one or two of you this space can adapt to your needs. The Bunkhouse offers flexible booking arrangements and guests can book the entire establishment, one room or even just a bed if required. There is limited space to pitch a tent if numbers require or you just like to be closer to nature.
As the name suggests the bedrooms are furnished with bunkbeds. Warm wood floors are echoed in the wood frames of the beds and all have a wonderful view through the floor length windows. Light comes flooding in. On the exposed beams above pigeons formerly roosted. This is a child’s dream. Rooms are neutral and simple highlighting the architecture and period features.
Two private high quality wet rooms with showers are just the place to wash away the cares of the day or to get the children clean after a day of tramping through the hills. In addition there are sinks and W/C’s and washing/drying areas provided
The kitchen offers guests a simple space to create and share. Benches flank a long table next to the old forge. Exposed beams and the forge itself remind visitors of the history of this old farm building. Tile floors make cleaning up spills and paw prints easy.
The Bunkhouse offers guests the availability of DIY livery if they wish to bring their horses to explore this vast hinterland. In addition there is a secure storage shed for your sports equipment, private onsite parking and dog kennels if you wish to bring the other members of the family. As The Bunkhouse is all on one level is it quite accessible. It is a non-smoking property and well behaved pets are welcome by arrangement.
Oil central heating is provided for your stay and extra logs can be purchased. Guests will need to bring their own towels and linens but bedding can be provided for a small extra fee. The Bunkhouse is non-smoking accommodation. DIY livery and dog kennels are available by arrangement.
