One of these walks takes you alongside the River Browney and down towards the village, a most scenic walk that’s not to be missed! The beautiful hills and valleys of Teesdale and Weardale are both under a 30-minute drive, and walkers will find themselves surrounded by some of the most evocative landscapes the UK has to offer. Hadrian’s Wall can be reached within an hour’s drive, and the Derwent Valley Railway Path leads east towards the outskirts of Durham, a very popular trail with cyclists, whilst the Waskerley Way leads westward into the vast open spaces of Weardale.
