The park is set just within the Northumberland National Park boundary, making it ideal for catching the beautiful dark sky on a clear night.
The village shop stocks all the essentials needed as well as some wines and beers. Should you wish to do a bigger shop, there are large supermarkets that deliver, or take a trip to Bellingham, 9 miles, where there are many amenities such as a supermarket, butcher, baker and a post office. The site has a restaurant and small bar which currently opens at selected times and serves great food. For water sports enthusiasts, mountain bikers and walkers, Kielder Forest and Waterside is within easy reach, as is the Kielder Observatory, set in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and perfect for stargazing.
Northumberland has been voted the best county to visit in the British Travel Awards 2018, with its stunning golden beaches, International Dark Sky National Park, Hadrian’s Wall, and hills and moors. A day trip to the beautiful Heritage Coast should not be missed, where you can call into Bamburgh Castle and walk along one of the most photographed beaches in Northumberland.
