This is a dog friendly property where two dogs are welcome, although they need to be kept on a lead due being on a working farm, there is an enclosed area where they can be let off and have a good run.
Staying at this cottage is to experience the history first-hand of the Cragside Estate’s Model Farm. Brimming with character on the edge of the National Park, East Cottage is in an ideal location for exploring the many visitor attractions throughout this glorious county.
Only two miles from the pretty market town of Rothbury with its own private stretch of salmon and trout fishing (by arrangement and seasonal), East Cottage is set on a small historical site featuring the only agricultural weigh bridge left in the UK today and a Grade II* listed building of Agricultural Importance. The site is linked to the Cragside, Rothbury and Coquetdale Area. The property was built by Lord Armstrong of Cragside in the 1880s as part of his Cragside Estate to show off his model farm.
The cottage boasts eco-friendly features and is powered by a wood burning stove and an Esse Range in the kitchen as well as a traditional electric oven. With a large garden to the side with lovely views, East Cottage is an idyllic location for families or friends. East Cottage is situated on a working rare breed farm with cattle, sheep and goats.
