Craster House at Seahouses is a smart town house tucked away within a small courtyard near the harbour of the fishing village of Seahouses. It makes an excellent base from which to explore the Heritage coastline, a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Spread over three floors, the property offers one double bedroom on the ground floor, and another double bedroom on the first floor along with a bathroom and the open-plan living space. Two further bedrooms, with an additional bathroom, are located on the second floor.
Seahouses offers a wide array of facilities including tearooms, restaurants, pubs and shops all within easy walking distance of this holiday property.
Boat trips to the Farne Islands run from the nearby harbour to see the nesting seabirds and grey seal colonies.
The picture postcard village of Bamburgh, protected by its dramatic fortress, is only 2 miles north with its wide expanse of golden, and often empty, sandy beaches and where the tidal island of Lindisfarne, locally known as Holy Island and the birthplace of Christianity, can be viewed. A further 2 miles up the coastline brings you to Waren Mill, which is steeped in history. Once an important port, its harbour has long since disappeared, silted up beneath the sands of the estuary.
Budle Bay is a bird sanctuary and, at low tide, a vast expanse of mudflats is the home to countless thousands of sea and land birds, making this location a haven for birdwatchers. The market town of Alnwick, with its own castle, offers many facilities a few miles inland. Alnwick Garden is a popular visitor attraction with its grand cascade waterfall and restaurant within the largest tree house in Europe. Horse riding is available 200 yards away and there is an impressive links golf course close by. Beach ¾ mile. Shop 200 yards, pub and restaurant 100 yard
