Best for walkers who want to be straight into Borrowdale, this 3-bedroom cottage for 6 sits above Seatoller at the foot of Honister Pass, with views across Hause Gill and the valley. After a day on the fells, the open-plan living space feels sociable rather than formal, centred on a Lakeland slate fireplace and a dining table that seats all six. The kitchen is well equipped, and there’s a useful utility area with room for drying outdoor gear.

The layout will suit families with older children or a mixed group of adults, with 2 bathrooms, a bunk room with en-suite shower on the ground floor, and 2 further bedrooms upstairs, including a master with a queen-size bed. The twin can be arranged as a super kingsize on request, which adds flexibility. A rear lawn and patio give you somewhere to sit out, while the fell-view bathroom adds a sense of place. Do note this is not suitable for children under 8, and care is needed because of drops in the grounds.
