Situated within the Lake District National Park, Loweswater village is located between two beautiful lakes, Loweswater and Crummock Water, both about 1 mile away. The smaller of the two lakes, Loweswater, offers a short walking route around the lake of about 3 miles, just enough to work off that big breakfast and spot the odd red squirrel or two, which are indigenous to the area. You’re also just a 350-yard walk from one of the most famous pub/restaurants in this part of the world. Visitors come from miles around to eat and drink at the inn and you have it almost on your doorstep! Brewing the multi award-winning Loweswater Gold, its a must try to add to your holiday experience list.

As you go further down the valley towards Buttermere and Borrowdale you are surrounded by some fantastic walking and cycling routes as well as breathtaking scenery. You have great access to many adventurous fells including Mellbreak and Blake Fell, or if you prefer more of a challenge, Robinson, High Stile, Dale Head and Grasmoor ranging from 2418-2795ft are all within a few miles radius. For shopping and dining you are just 7 miles from the popular town of Cockermouth, the birthplace of William Wordsworth, and if you fancy a trip to Keswick with an abundance of fine dining, bars, shops and restaurants as well as a number of excellent tourist attractions, its just a 10-mile drive over the Whinlatter Pass.
