This spacious holiday home offers modern, tastefully decorated bedrooms on the first floor including a beautiful master bedroom which features a huge contemporary bathroom for a relaxing soak after a day of adventure in the Lake District Fells. The ground floor is all about the social aspect and this will prove a winner with large families, multiple couples and groups. A large open-plan kitchen/dining room is at the heart of the home complete with dishwasher . There’s also a utility/laundry room and an additional toilet. The cosy living room with wood burner provides plenty of space to socialise and leads to a large conservatory with additional seating overlooking the spacious gardens at the rear.
This really is a house that gives you flexibility whether you want a quiet night in front of the TV or maybe you want to open a few bottles of wine and get competitive over a board game in the conservatory. At the rear there is a patio and large lawned garden, great if you want to get the badminton out and enjoy the afternoon sun.
The traditional mining village of Dearham has a lot to offer, the local Post Office and shop is just across the road and it has a nearby chippy! If you fancy some pub grub or a rewarding drink after a long day, the village pub is just a five minute walk. Hop in the car and you will reach the town of Maryport in just 2½ miles, home to The Lake District Coast Aquarium as well as Clip ’n’ Climb, a popular climbing adventure attraction. Kids will love Cave at the Wave which features an indoor caving activity, or if you want to boost your adrenaline, you can whizz around the local go-karting track.
If culture is your thing you can visit Senhouse Roman Museum or take a trip 4 miles away to Cockermouth. This lovely Cumbrian town is the birthplace of William Wordsworth and offers a delightful town centre with a good mix of bars, restaurants, shops and tourist attractions, and is also home to the famous Jennings’s Brewery. In just 7 miles you will be within the Lake District National Park with its stunning scenery and no end of walking and cycling routes. Or continue on your route another 8 miles to find Bassenthwaite Lake, one of Cumbria’s most stunning lakes with the backdrop of the imposing Skiddaw, a challenge for even the most experienced fell walkers.
