The second floor features a comfortable bedroom with king-size bed, beamed ceiling and Velux window. The first floor has a pleasant twin bedroom and a good-sized double, both with storage and hanging space. The contemporary bathroom comes with a shower over the bath and heated towel rail. On the ground floor, you’ll find an open plan living room/dining room. There’s plenty of easy seating, a Smart TV and Netflix, perfect for a movie night, and a large dining table for a feast after a day of adventure. The kitchen is well-equipped, and you also have a washing machine and tumble dryer. There’s a separate downstairs toilet and a small, enclosed yard at the rear with bistro table and chairs, perfect for that morning coffee or a chilled glass of wine in the sunshine.


Cockermouth, birthplace of William Wordsworth, is just a short walk from the property. In fact, the National Trust Wordsworth House is just a few minutes’ walk away. Your nearest supermarket is a 5-minute walk, and there’s a couple of pubs on your doorstep serving great food and local cask ales. The main town centre is also easily reached on foot. Cockermouth is a thriving market town full of hidden surprises at every turn, and boasts a great selection of pubs, quaint restaurants, micro-breweries, local craft shops, independent coffee houses, delicatessens, speciality shops and of course, well known retailers and branded stores too. If you like culture, Kirkgate Arts shows movies, arts and drama. Fancy a swim? The leisure centre is also nearby as well as local cycle hire.

You’ll also find the famous Jennings Brewery nestled beneath the castle walls where the River Derwent and River Cocker meet.
Cockermouth is on the border of the Lake District National Park, so whether you like the rugged adventure of the mountains or the serenity of the seaside, you’ve got the best of both worlds. You’re also within easy reach of some glorious lakes. Take a 5-mile drive to Bassenthwaite Lake at the foot of the Skiddaw range for fantastic walks, woodland, wildlife and watersports. You’ll also find the Lakes Distillery offering tasting tours as well as the Lake District Wildlife Park just 6 miles away. The popular town of Keswick is 14 miles away and can be reached in about 20 minutes. For walkers and cyclists, you’ll love the route through Whinlatter Forest Park, or continue down the valley to Buttermere which boasts stunning panoramic scenery
