Family owned since the 1960s, Unerigg has a view over Grasmere and the surrounding fells that you will find hard to tear yourself away from. This detached property has a fabulous, long living room with a huge picture window overlooking the lake. Its wood burner and plenty of comfortable seating makes it the perfect central point for you and your guests to relax and enjoy your stay. The house is spacious with large, bright and airy rooms, two main living rooms, a dining area and a table tennis table to keep your family entertained during their stay.
Wake up in the beautiful four-poster bed overlooking this Lakeland panorama, enjoy a coffee on the terrace and look out for local visiting wildlife; then take a short stroll into Grasmere and try the many excellent restaurants, tea rooms and bars that are available in the village.
For those who enjoy walking, you do not need to drive anywhere as there are many fabulous walks from the door with stunning views, including the nearby Grasmere and Rydal Water circuit. Furthermore the most well-known ‘Central Fells’ are just a short drive away.
Traditional events such as the rushbearing ceremony and Grasmere Sports and Show still take place during the summer months. Followers of Wordsworth can pay a visit to the churchyard at St Oswald’s, where beneath the yews, the poet and his family graves can be found. A visit to Dove Cottage and Rydal Mount are also a must. Leave the car behind, and take the open top bus that offers unlimited stops along its route, a perfect and enjoyable way to see the sights. Shop ¾ mile, pub and restaurant ½ mile
