The property is close to the southern part of the town centre and you can walk to the edge of Highgate in around 5 minutes. For families, there is a leisure centre (¼ mile), theatre, cinema and playground. Attractions in Kendal include the castle ruins and museum, Abbot Hall Art Gallery and the Museum of Lakeland Life, the remains of Castle Howe and the Kendal Castle and Friends Meeting House which houses the Quaker Tapestry. Just 6 miles from the M6, Kendal is regarded as the southern gateway to the Lake District and it is a great base from which to explore all that the Lake District has to offer. Close to the National Park border, it is only 8 miles from Windermere, 13 miles from Ambleside and 20 miles from Coniston and Grizedale.
