Riverside Apartment Cottage in Kendal and Lakes Gateway, Cumbria - 2 bedrooms, sleeps 4

Weekly stays (Fri-Fri) start from £450 per week
Short breaks out of season start from £290 (Mon-Fri or Fri-Mon)

This luxurious apartment is in Kendal, a wonderful market town, perfectly situated between two National Parks: the Lake District and the Yorkshire Dales. Tourist attractions in the area are plentiful, whether it be a gentle stroll up to Kendal Castle, events at the Brewery Arts Centre, an afternoon at the World of Beatrix Potter or a lake cruise on Windermere. This self-catering holiday home has a wide range of actvities on the doorstep including golf courses, a ski slope, and mountain biking, all within a mile. There are also many good restaurants, bars and pubs within walking distance that serve delicious homecooked produce.

The Lake District National Park is a walkers' paradise - the famous peaks of Helvellyn or Scaffell Pike provide a strenuous challenge, or there are more manageable walks up Skiddaw, near the popular market town of Keswick. The Yorkshire Dales are the natural habitat of the black grouse, breeding waders and the rare Northern Brown Argus butterfly. The landscape boasts powerful waterfalls - the Aysgarth Falls, Cautley Spout, Hardraw Force among them as well as some of the most dramatic limestone formations in the country.

This fantastic holiday flat in the lakes is conveniently placed for sampling the area's rich heritage - Dove Cottage and the Wordsworth Museum are within reach. As are some of the finest houses in the country - the beautifully preserved Brockwell, or Brantwood, the former home of John Ruskin.

This is a fantastic bright and airy holiday apartment, superbly placed to enjoy the gorgeous Lake District and Yorkshire Dales
