Situated near the traditional market town of Kirkby Stephen, the house is surrounded by excellent walking and cycling country, with Kirkby Stephen being a popular stop off point on the Coast to Coast walk. There is also easy access to the Pennine Way, fishing on the nearby River Eden, golf, pony trekking and historic castles in the area.

This wonderful location is within an easy, scenic drive of the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales and the famous Settle/Carlisle Railway. Within a 40-minute drive, visitors can explore Ullswater and the Eastern Lakes, Swaledale, Wensleydale and the lesser known Teesdale, along with the popular towns of Keswick, Kendal, Sedbergh, Barnard Castle and Hawes. Tan Hill, the highest pub in Britain, is also a short, pretty drive away. A wide selection of shops, pubs and restaurants are found in Kirkby Stephen 1½ miles away
