If you like rugged scenery and picturesque landscapes you’ll love the backdrop to this beautiful terraced cottage. Brackendale is one of just six holiday properties on a working beef and sheep farm, and offers views up Blencathra to the rear, where the changing colours of the seasons are a sight to behold. Sleeping up to four guests in a double bedroom and a twin room with full-sized bunk beds, this stone built cottage is excellent for couples and families. Brackendale is beautifully furnished and well equipped. It also comes with a private south facing patio with garden furniture and lawn located just opposite the front door so you can sit outside and soak up the sun throughout the day. The downstairs is open plan with a combined kitchen, dining and living area, so you’ll get to spend plenty of time together making memories that will last a lifetime.
Doddick Farm Cottages enjoy an excellent location just off the main route from Penrith to Keswick, and there is a choice of some fantastic pubs and restaurants nearby.
The local pub is ¾ mile away, while the village of Threlkeld, with two excellent restaurants, is just 1¼ miles. Keswick Golf Course is less than a mile away if you fancy a round surrounded by stunning Lakeland scenery. Why not jump in the car and drive 5 miles to reach Keswick? This very popular town has something for everyone including fantastic pubs, restaurants, bars and great shopping options including a local market. From here you can hire a boat and sail or row around Derwentwater surrounded by amazing scenery. If you like walking you can access excellent routes up Latrigg and Catbells. Keswick is also home to some popular tourist attractions including the Theatre by The Lake which provides award-winning arts and drama. For a fun-filled family day out try the Derwent Pencil Museum, an interactive family experience, or Puzzling Place, a hands on attraction with mind-boggling optical illusions.
If you want to go really wild check out the Lake District Wildlife Park at Bassenthwaite, 10 miles. With over 100 species of animals and daily shows, this is a great day out not to be missed.
Whether you want gentle walks, challenging climbs, lazy days or you just want to relax and take in the countryside, you can have it all at Brackendale, and you even have direct access to Blencathra, a Lakeland Fell not for the faint hearted! Shop 4½ miles, pub ¾ mile and restaurant 1¼ miles.
