The charming village of Rottingdean is steeped in history and has a village green, an historic Saxon church and duck pond. Only a 10-minute drive or bus ride to Brighton Marina and the nearby cosmopolitan city centre, with numerous bars, live music, eateries, theatres, art galleries and antique shops.
Enjoy shopping along The Lanes, saunter along the Palace pier, visit the Royal Pavilion and the Museum and Art Gallery.
There are various National Trust homes and gardens to discover including Nymans, Sheffield Park and Wakehurst Place, also Leonardslee gardens, as well as vineyards (Rathfinny), ferry trips to Dieppe from nearby Newhaven, and the historic Arundel Castle and nearby Wildfowl & Wetlands Centre.
The glorious South Downs National Park has excellent walks and cycle routes, or visit Devils Dyke, Cissbury Ring and Borde Hill.
