This detached home is situated just a short walk to Steephill Cove’s beach, which lies just south west of the Victorian seaside town of Ventnor.
Steephill is a traditional, unspoilt fishing cove with a sand and shingle beach nestled between rocky cliffs and smugglers coves. The bay has no road access, which makes it a unique hidden gem. Find your way down the pathways and enjoy fresh crab and lobster, see what you can find hidden amongst the rockpools or relax and enjoy watching the children play. Ventnor is just over a mile away. Most of the town is built on a steep hill which leads to the beach, and there are a number of lovely tea shops, pubs and restaurants dotted along the esplanade, as well as quirky and bespoke shops, an award-winning park and a children’s paddling pool.
Stretch your legs and explore the amazing coastal paths in both directions from the property. Alternatively, outdoor pursuits on the island are well catered for and include horse riding, fishing, cycling, paragliding, water sports and golf. There are numerous attractions to discover for all ages on the island, including The Needles with its chairlift, amusement park, boat rides, lighthouse and coloured sands of Alum Bay, Ventnor Botanical Gardens, Blackgang Chine, Tapnell Farm Park and Carisbrooke Castle. Why not pay a visit to Queen Victoria’s favourite holiday residence, Osborne House and its gardens, or the sailing towns of Yarmouth and Cowes. Beach ¼ mile. Shop and pub ¼ mile, restaurant 175 yards.
