Woodland View Lodge is a luxurious, one bedroom lodge located on the owner’s working farm, near Axminster in the heart of East Devon. Situated in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, on the edge of the Blackdown Hills, you can explore both coast and countryside. Guests can enjoy wonderful countryside views from the private hot tub on the terrace whilst sipping a glass of fizz. This stunning, spacious lodge has an open plan living area with comfortable sofas, Smart TV and Sonos surround system. There is also a double sofa bed suitable for both adults and children. The kitchen area is well-equipped with everything you need to enjoy a self-catering holiday. The bedroom has a beautiful, solid wood, kingsize sleigh bed with matching furniture, and the ultra stylish shower room has a walk-in shower, marble effect tiles, heated towel rail and fluffy white towels.
Being all on the ground floor with a walk-in shower, the lodge is easily accessible.
The farm itself has around 30 cows and guests are welcome to walk on the land down to the stream at Umborne Brook, where the owners have rights for half a mile of private fishing. There are so many things to enjoy in this area of Devon to suit all interests including nature reserves, National Trust properties, riding schools and golf clubs. With easy access to the A30/A35, this location is great for getting out and exploring East Devon and Somerset.
For keen walkers, there are plenty of cliff top walks along with the South West Coastal Path and the popular East Devon Way, all providing stunning views. Axminster, 6 miles, is home to the River Cottage Canteen and Deli, and the Head Quarters is close by at Trinity Hill. Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall and his team run many courses and culinary events from here. Honiton, 7 miles, is the nearest large market town, renowned for its antique shops, coffee houses and restaurants. It has two street markets a week and is a great place to do your shopping and while away an hour or two.
