Situated directly on the South West Cornish Coastal Path, just yards from the steps leading directly on to Porthallow beach, this traditionally-built, white-painted stone and cob former fisherman’s cottage has an enviable location. With low beams, wood panel walls, character and many original features, it sits at the end of a row of three, right above the quiet beach Porthallow. The cottage provides a comfortable base for guests with the added touch of French doors in the double bedroom opening onto a balcony with sea views. It’s in an ideal spot for exploring the beautiful Lizard Peninsula or for enjoying walking and scuba diving.
It is also a wildlife and bird watcher’s paradise. Art lovers and garden enthusiasts will enjoy the numerous art galleries including the Tate St Ives and the sub tropical gardens including Trebah, Treliske and Durgan. The perfect base for visiting the many different areas of west and south Cornwall, from the rugged surf coastline of the north coast to the tranquil sailing waters of the south coast. Or simply relax on the property’s roof terrace with its glass balcony overlooking the sea and beach below.
The area is perfect for beach lovers as the Lizard Peninsula boasts numerous sandy coves, quaint picturesque harbours and fishing villages to explore. The historic towns on Helston, famous for its Flora Day, and Marazion with St Michael’s Mount are set on its small island. The busy maritime port and harbour at Falmouth with The National Maritime Museum and Pendennis Castle is worth a visit. This sleepy, quiet spot gives guests easy access to so many attractions.
