Penrose Barn1 bedroom, Sleeps 2.

Converted barn for two in a peaceful Cornish hamlet near North Coast beaches, with a cosy wood-effect fire, mezzanine king bedroom, private entrance and parking, plus space for one small dog.

No smoking. This property has a £150 security deposit.

Tucked into the peaceful hamlet of Penrose near Saint Ervan, this thoughtfully converted barn is made for slow mornings and salt-air afternoons on Cornwall’s North Coast. Completely self-contained with its own entrance, it offers a quiet escape for couples, with countryside all around and a choice of sandy beaches only a short drive away. It is a great place to return to after coastal walks, surfing sessions or sightseeing.
Inside, the open-plan living space feels light and relaxed, with room to cook, eat and put your feet up.

A gas wood burner adds a cosy glow for evenings in, and the kitchen is well-equipped for everything from quick snacks to leisurely breakfasts. Upstairs, the mezzanine level holds a king-size bed in a calm, airy space, while a double sofa bed in the lounge can be made up if you need flexible sleeping arrangements. A shower room on the ground floor completes the layout. Do note that parts of the interior have limited head height, so taller guests may need to take a little care.
Step outside and you are back to birdsong and open skies, with one private parking space and room for one small, well-behaved dog.

For day trips, the harbour town of Padstow is within an easy drive for estuary walks, browsing independent shops and sampling local produce. If you fancy time on the water, wildlife boat trips along the coastline are a memorable way to see Cornwall from a different angle. Come back for a quiet night by the fire and plan tomorrow’s adventure.
