The historic inner harbour was built around 1774 and is famous for its pilchard fishing and stories of smuggling. Mevagissey is still a working fishing harbour alongside water sports activities and pleasure trips. Colourful cottages dot the hillside and meandering pathways lead to coastal footpaths along to Pentewan and Portmellon.

The area is perfect for exploring the diverse corners of Cornwall, and for garden lovers The Lost Gardens of Heligan and the Eden Project are easily accessed.
