The kitchen is spacious and well equipped with an electric cooker, microwave, ¾ size fridge/freezer, and a washing machine plus a family-size kitchen table with four chairs. The family bathroom is also downstairs with a shower over the bath, a toilet, wash basin and a heated towel rail. Upstairs are three bedrooms and a separate toilet with a wash basin; two with standard double beds and one with twin beds. An extra guest bed can be put into either of the double rooms, so the cottage can accommodate a maximum of seven people if requested.
Both Clover Cottage and Daisy Cottage share a large open grassed area with mature English trees (oaks and ash) with movable picnic tables and a charcoal barbeque, plus benches to enjoy the wonderful view of Dartmoor.
Low light pollution makes it perfect for stargazing and a fairytale view of Okehampton located in the valley below, provides a great sight at night.
The farm is managed by the fourth generation of the family who have been welcoming visitors from all over the world to their unique location in West Devon since 1970. On the Tarka Trail and Sustrans Cycleway 27 - "Devon Coast to Coast", the farm is in the centre of the South West peninsula being 100 miles from both Bristol and Land’s End and only 3 miles from the A30. Quiet and peaceful, the cottages are only a 30-minute walk into Okehampton via the Tarka Trail for all local amenities. With the dramatic landscape of Dartmoor National Park nearby, discover the magnificent points of High Willhays and Yes Tor where you can enjoy a scenic hike to the summit for unrivaled views, before embarking on an exhilarating outdoor adventure of canoeing or climbing with Adventure Okehampton.
There’s plenty of opportunity to enjoy the great outdoors at the nearby Roadford Country Park, Okehampton Castle, the stunning views along the old railway line to Meldon reservoir and Castle Drogo. The location of the cottages makes an ideal base from which to explore the North Cornwall and Devon coastline with stunning beaches at Woolacombe and Sandymouth.
Enjoy a day out at Hartland and visit the lighthouse, Hartland Quay and the historic fishing village at Clovelly. If gardens are of interest, you will find the RHS gardens Rosemoor a delight and there are numerous National Trust properties in the surrounding area to enjoy. With beautiful surroundings, Clover Cottage is the perfect choice for a truly memorable holiday exploring Dartmoor and Devon. Clover cottage can be booked together with Daisy cottage (UK35353) to accomodate up to 13 guests.
