Situated in one of the prettiest coastal villages in Cornwall, on a quiet lane behind the owners’ home, Bosun’s is a lovely, detached, single-storey property. Port Isaac is home to the TV programme Doc Martin. In the old village, the narrow lanes are full of quaint Cornish tea rooms, galleries, pubs, cafés and restaurants. Nathan Outlaw, the renowned TV Michelin starred chef, has put Port Isaac on the culinary map, he has a restaurant just a stroll away from Bosuns (booking essential), and a pub in the village overlooking the harbour.
Why not book a table for Friday night and watch the local ’Fishermans Friends’ sing sea shantys on the quay side. The streets lead to the ancient harbour and beach, which is still used by the local fishermen. The village sits on the dramatic North Cornish Coast between Polzeath to the west, and Tintagel and Boscastle to the east. Polzeath offers sandy surfing beaches, surf hire and great bars. Tintagel is famous for its myths and legends, and is a great place to explore. Padstow is home to Rick Stein’s gastronomic empire, which is only a short drive from the property.
The area also has many other attractions, from the beautiful Camel Estuary, to the multi-use trail that hugs its shoreline right into the heart of Cornwall. Bike hire is available in Wadebridge. The South West Coastal Path passes close to the property, and is a great walk with amazing coastal views. The nearby moors of Bodmin are also accessible from Port Isaac. Beach 800 yards. Shop and restaurant 300 yards, pub 500 yard
