Magpies is a charming holiday home located in the heart of Dorset, offering a perfect retreat for couples or friends seeking comfort and relaxation. This one-bedroom annexe has been newly renovated in 2023 and has been designed to a great standard, ensuring a delightful and memorable stay.
The village itself forms part of the Melbury Estate and Park. With some 34 listed buildings, including the Grade II* Old Rectory and the Grade I parish church it has been described as "a calendarsmith’s dream of thatched cottages".
Upon entering Magpies, you’ll find yourself in a welcoming open-plan living, dining, and kitchen area. The space is thoughtfully decorated with tasteful furnishings and features a cosy living area, where you can unwind after a day of exploration. The dining area provides a comfortable spot to enjoy delicious meals prepared in the well-equipped kitchen.

The kitchen boasts modern appliances, and all the necessary utensils to prepare and savour delightful dishes. Ascending the stairs, you’ll discover the lovely large bedroom, exuding a serene ambience. The room is adorned with twin beds, ensuring a restful night’s sleep. A walk-in wardrobe offers plenty of storage space for your belongings, allowing you to keep your living area neat and organised. Adjoining the bedroom is a spacious en-suite shower room, providing a rejuvenating haven for you to freshen up each day. Outside, a small courtyard awaits, complete with a charming table and chairs set. This cosy outdoor space is ideal for enjoying a cup of tea in the morning or savouring a glass of wine in the evening while soaking up the tranquil atmosphere.
The historic market town of Sherborne just 7 miles away, boasts a wealth of medieval architectural treasures, including the stunning Sherborne Abbey, dating back to the 8th century.

Explore the Sherborne Castle and Gardens, wander the quaint streets lined with independent shops and cafés, or embark on a scenic walk along the River Yeo. The market town of Dorchester, a 30-minute drive from Magpies, beckons with its captivating blend of Roman ruins, historic landmarks, and literary connections.
