High Meadows is a luxury, spacious, reverse level house which benefits from its own views over the Percuil River. Upstairs, the comfortable living room has a large balcony overlooking the garden. There is a large open plan double aspect kitchen with views over the Percuil River and a further sitting area overlooking the garden. The dining room has a double aspect with wonderful river views on one side and a further balcony overlooking the garden on the other. There is also a small library area where you can escape to read your favourite book. The house has the benefit of a large utility room on the ground floor which is particularly useful for walking gear, wetsuits, sailing kit, dog baskets etc. On the ground floor are the six stylishly decorated bedrooms; one double with super kingsize bed and garden access, one double with kingsize bed and garden access and one further double room, all with their own en-suites.
As well as twin room with its own en-suite, another twin room and a single room. This wonderful property can easily sleep 11 guests making it perfect for extended families or friends.
This property is one of the best large family houses to rent in St Mawes. Exquisite gardens and comfortable throughout, it is thoughtfully equipped and particularly suited to a large group gathering yet still some quiet spaces to relax and enjoy this wonderful spot in one of Cornwall’s most idyllic villages. Adjoining the property is an annexe which is occupied occasionally by the owners. They park their car elsewhere and access the annexe via a completely separate entrance at the back of the property which guests will never see. The annexe is well sound-proofed and only overlooks the parking area.
However the blinds on that side of the annexe are always closed so the owners do not overlook guests in any way.
St Mawes is one of the finest waterside villages in Cornwall with much to offer the visitor. St Mawes Castle was built by Henry VIII and is a splendid place to take in the views of the Carrick Roads. There are miles of coastal and countryside walks to take in and some idyllic beaches on which to relax and watch the world go by. The little Place Ferry takes visitors to explore St Anthony’s Head or there are regular ferries to Falmouth. Being situated on the seafront, the village is also known for the restaurants and pubs that serve superb fish and shellfish dishes all year round.
