Blue Haven is perfectly situated for you to enjoy all the attractions and stunning scenery that North Devon has to offer. It is just 5 minutes’ flat walk away from the local Blue flag beach, which is popular for surfers as well as sunbathers alike, and which is over watched by a lifeguard at peak times. The house is located in a quiet cul-de-sac with ample parking on the road, and one car on the drive. As you walk in, you are greeted by a welcoming hallway which has access to the downstairs separate toilet and an open plan living/dining room/kitchen. On the first floor are three double bedrooms, one with an en-suite shower room, a single bedroom with pull-out bed under, and a bathroom. Back downstairs, the kitchen area has all the appliances you could need to put together a hearty meal. The living area has lots of comfortable seating, a gas fire and one step out through the patio doors leading into the garden, where you can enjoy dining al fresco or simply relax with a drink on the swinging bench.
Westward Ho! itself offers an array of seaside amenities including free public tennis courts, some fascinating curiosity shops and a range of restaurants and cafés, which are visited by locals for their quality fayre.
The beaches are a main attraction of this area and the South West Coastal Path also runs through Westward Ho!. Swimming, surfing, kite surfing, canoeing, horse riding, entertainment for all the family and fishing are all close by. Grab yourself and free wooden surfboard to use, to help with sea pollution. If you are not too comfortable with surfing, you can attend the surf school for children and adults.
For indoor activities visit The Big Sheep or The Milky Way, which are a 15-minute drive away. For garden lovers, there is RHS Rosemoor in Torrington and National Trust Arlington Court. The popular Tarka Trail can be accessed approximately 3 miles away providing the unique opportunity to follow a disused railway line by foot or by bike (which can be hired) allowing you to enjoy some of Devon’s finest countryside and scenery.
A bus stop 5 minutes away allows you to visit Barnstaple, Bideford and Ilfracombe, where you can wander around weekly pannier markets, with a host of local produce, cafés and crafts on offer. On your journey, stopover at Fremington Quay for a tasty bite to eat and then at the estuary-side village of Instow.
One place not to forget a visit to is the world-famous village of Clovelly with its pedestrianised cobbled main street, traditional architecture, donkeys and views over the Bristol Channel. Royal North Devon Golf club is 10 minutes away and has been placed in Golf World Top Hundred courses in the world. For something different, take a trip across to Lundy Island, home to England’s first statutory Marine Nature Reserve due to its unique flora and fauna. Measuring just 3 miles by ¾ mile, this entire island has been designated a Site of Special Scientific Interest. Beach 5-minute walk and shop 528 yard
