These three properties (refs UK31779, UKC998 and UKC999) are set on a working arable farm, which was a finalist in the ’Remarkable East Yorkshire Tourism Awards’ 2018.
The Old Stables (ref UK31779) has been converted to a very good standard and maintains many of its original features, including beams and the expertly restored stable sides which feature in the open plan living area. This area also has a series of small handmade stained glass windows set high up on the back wall, which throw light onto the first floor corridor. They are a delight and depict a story of a working horse and her foal; so in keeping with this fabulous holiday home.
The underfloor heating throughout the ground floor provides a cosy feel and you can throw open the bi-folding doors into the sun room for extra space to relax and enjoy with family and friends. The kitchen and dining area offers ample space to enjoy a sit down breakfast or a home made evening meal.
A door from the kitchen leads out into the enclosed courtyard. There is also a further exit to an undercover area to the rear of the property which features a large hot tub and small shower area. With views across open countryside, many a happy evening can be spent enjoying the relaxing bubbles!
The ground floor accommodation is completed with a zip and link super kingsize bed with an en-suite shower room and access to the outside courtyard. On the first floor are four further en-suite bedrooms offering a mixture of twin and kingsize accommodation. The house bathroom is an absolute delight with a freestanding roll-top bath. Along the corridor that connects the rooms is a feature window that forms part of the working barn behind the property. From here you can sit and enjoy the ’bat hotel’ that has been installed to protect these shy creatures.
There are great walks round the farm, as well as along the river bank and throughout the area. This location is also popular with cyclists, so be sure to bring your bikes and enjoy this delightful setting in style. Beverley is only 2½ miles away and is well known for its racecourse, minster, many boutiques and coffee shops. The coast at Hornsea can be reached within 10 miles, where visitors will find many of its traditional amusements and its promenade. To amuse your children, why not spend a day exploring the wildlife centre at Hornsea Mere?
York is a great place for a day out and is about an hour’s drive away. The Deep at Hull is one of the UK’s biggest aquariums and is well worth a visit and is about half an hour away. These properties can be booked together to accommodate up to 22 guests.
