This detached former farm building has been tastefully converted into a cosy rural retreat, providing a comfortable, well-equipped base from which to explore the delightful Wolds, coast, moors and vales of Yorkshire. There are wonderful walks and cycling routes to be explored from the doorstep; and being located in the Yorkshire Nature Triangle makes The Old Barn a perfect place for the wildlife enthusiast to enjoy the diverse, sometimes rare and always spectacular species that the country can offer. You can even watch little egrets and kingfishers from the property’s driveway!
The seaside resorts of Bridlington, Scarborough and Filey, with their miles of sandy beaches and amusements are easily accessible from the property, and the landscape enthusiast can enjoy the impressive rocky shore headland of Falmbrough, Hockney’s Wolds and the spectacular North York Moors National Park.
The internationally significant RSPB Bempton is a short drive away. The stately homes of Sledmore, Burton Agnes and Sewerby Hall are within the locality and offer much to engage the visitor. Medieval Beverley, with its minster, markets, Westwood Pasture and racecourse is a 30-minute drive away.
Hull, the City of Culture, with the world’s only Submarium, Ferens Art Gallery and maritime museum is a one hour drive (or 35 minutes train ride) away and York is also an hour’s drive from the property.
The village of Nafferton, 1¾ miles away has shops, pubs and fish and chip takeaway, and the local restaurant is 2 miles away in Wansford and the market town of Driffield, 4½ miles away has a wide range of services.
