The Cottage at Gillamoor is in the pretty moorland village of Gillamoor, within the southern side of the North Yorkshire Moors National Park. This end of terrace cottage is full of charm and traditional character yet it has been restored to a high standard. With its original Yorkshire stone kitchen floor, exposed stonework, original beams in the sitting room and double bedroom it is a beautiful holiday property.
For those of you looking for a good base so that you can enjoy the variety of Yorkshire’s walking and cycling trails, the cottage is perfect.
The Valley of Farndale which is famous for its daffodil walk, and Hutton le Hole are close by. Close to the property are the market towns at Kirkbymoorside, 3 miles, and Helmsley, 8 miles. They both offer a choice of shops, inns and tearooms, perfect place to stock up on the essentials and also a chance to enjoy some of the local boutique shops.
Another local attraction is the North Yorkshire Moors Steam Railway, a chance to step back in time.
A must see is Castle Howard, well known as the location for Brideshead Revisited. There are numerous other National Trust properties to see including Nunnington Hall and Rievaulx Terrace.

On the ground floor, the sitting room has solid oak floor and a multi-fuel burning stove (initial fuel included) to ensure a wonderful warm and welcome. There is a four piece leather suite and Freeview flat screen TV with separate blu-ray DVD player.
Just up to four steps to kitchen/dining area with its original Yorkshire stone floor. The kitchen is fully equipped with an electric cooker, hob, microwave, washing machine DAB radio and stable door to lawned garden with sitting-out area and patio furniture and BBQ. There you can relax and enjoy chatting over the day or your plans ahead.
Stairs lead up to the first floor with 1 double bedroom with solid pine double bed, hanging space, two small feature cupboards chest of drawers, bedside tables and DAB radio alarm clock with ipod dock. There is a bathroom with shower over bath, sink and toilet. On the second floor is another bedroom with twin beds, bedside tables and large cupboard with hanging space.
