Set in the pretty village of Hebden, in the beautiful Yorkshire Dales National Park, Poppy Cottage is attractively and comfortably furnished, and is located on a quiet and peaceful lane in the heart of the village. The cottage is within strolling distance of a well renowned pub serving good food. Adjacent to the children’s playground is a highly regarded village tea room offering home-made meals, cakes and ice creams. Numerous beautiful walks can be enjoyed from the doorstep, from easy strolls along the river path to Grassington, Burnsall and Linton, as well as more challenging routes up into the hills. For cyclists, this is ’Tour De Yorkshire’ country, and horse riding and fishing are also available nearby, and a lockable bike store is available.
After a busy day walking, cycling or touring you can relax in front of the warm and welcoming wood burner. In the warmer months you can enjoy either of the small sitting out areas, one at the back of the house and one 50 yards along the lane which enjoys a sunny aspect and is ideal for barbecues.
Grassington is a charming, bustling village and is just under 2 miles away with its wide selection of individual shops, pubs, restaurants and cafés. It also plays host to the Dickensian Festival in December and to a Music and Arts Festival in the summer.
Bolton Abbey, Brimham Rocks, Pateley Bridge, Malham Cove and Fountains Abbey all provide exceptional days out and are only a short drive away. The bustling market town of Skipton with its Norman castle standing proudly at the head of the town is where you can enjoy trips along the canal, use the indoor swimming pool, play golf and maybe pick up a bargain on the market. The attractive spa towns of Harrogate and Ilkley are a little further afield and provide a pleasant shopping experience. Shop 2 miles, pub/restaurant 400 yard
