This pretty cottage, conveniently located on a street just off the main square, oozes character and charm with its narrow wooden staircase hidden behind a door, traditional fireplace and country kitchen. The cosy living room is the perfect spot to retire to after a busy day exploring as is the garden where guests can sit back and relax on a balmy summers evening.
The cobbled, bunting lined streets filled with shops selling everything from tailored tweed suits to toffees, are just a short stroll away. Treat yourself to a delicious homecooked meal from one of the friendly local pubs or while away your afternoon watching the world go by from one of the pavement cafés.
There is plenty to see and do here, with events hosted throughout the year such as the Grassington Festival in late summer hosting live music, family workshops and art, the 1940’s weekend and Dickensian Festival to help you get into the Christmas spirit. For those seeking stunning scenery away from the hustle and bustle, there are many wonderful walks from your door taking you along the riverside and across the rolling hills of the Yorkshire Dales with some of the most spectacular walking routes in the country and many a good country pub. Cyclists will love the winding country lanes and undulating hills, many of which feature on the Tour De Yorkshire route.
Just a short drive away is the market town of Skipton, also known as the ‘Gateway to the Dales’, with a great selection of shops and cafés alongside delightful bars and restaurants which are dotted along cobbled streets. Enjoy the scenery from a different perspective on board a barge chugging along the Leeds Liverpool canal that runs through. However you choose to spend your time, Rooftops really will provide a wonderful Yorkshire escape.
