Grange Farm is located in the small village of High Hawsker, which is in between Whitby and Robin Hoods Bay, on the Yorkshire Coast, in the North Yorkshire Moors National Park. The Yorkshire Coast and Moors are well known for the picturesque villages and dramatic landscapes. The area has a lot to offer, Whitby Abbey, the Captain Cook museum, Scarborough Castle, Castle Howard are only a few of the attractions in the area.
For the walkers amongst you, the Cindertrack, a disused railway line which runs from Whitby to Scarborough is only a few minutes from the house. This route is also very popular with cyclists. The Coast the Coast walking route passes through the village and the Cleveland Way is also near by.
The local pub, the Hare & Hounds is a minute walk from the house and is a nice place to go to for a drink or a meal.
There is a bus stop in the village, so you can leave to car and use the bus to get to Whitby or Robin Hoods Bay.
Accommodation:
Grange Farm is a really spacious mid 19th Century Yorkshire Stone Farmhouse, well- furnished and full of character. The house offers self catering accommodation, for maximum 14 people, and is excellent for families and friends wanting to holiday together. The accommodation is ideal for a holiday with grandparents and grandchildren. The self catering accommodation has five bedrooms and two sitting rooms. The house is ideal for multi-generational holidays.
Ground Floor: the first sitting room has leather sofas, a two seater and a three seater sofa, as well as two high back chairs. There is a TV, DVD player, and stereo/radio/cassette/CD in this room. The second sitting room (we call it the yellow room) also has leather sofas. Two, three seater sofas, and a two seater sofa, as well as several pieces of other furniture. There is also a music centre and some childrens toys. The "yellow room" has a high vaulted beamed ceiling (see picture to the right). The spacious dining room has a wood burning stove and seating for 14. Wooden logs can be bought locally.
The well equipped pine kitchen is next to the dining room. The kitchen is equipped with a 110cm wide gas-oven/cooker, microwave, kettle, dishwasher, fridge, freezer. There is a separate utility room which has a washing machine, tumble-dryer, iron and ironing board. A separate downstairs toilet is also located in the utility room. The house also has a large conservatory with 2 corner sofas and the conservatory gives entrance to a south facing fenced garden and patio with garden furniture and barbecue.
Due to the age of the farmhouse, Grange Farm holiday cottage has some steps on the ground floor, as well as a few narrow and low doorways downstairs and upstairs, which gives the property its unique character.

Attic conversion (sloping ceiling), into an excellent bedroom with a king size bed, and en-suite bathroom/WC.
PS. High Hawsker, Whitby is a family orientated peaceful village. Please keep this in mind when organising your holiday / weekend-break.

Grange Farm holiday cottage is on the Yorkshire Coast in the village of High Hawsker, in the North Yorkshire Moors National Park, mid way (2.5 miles) between Whitby and Robin Hoods Bay,
Whitby.
On the outskirts of Whitby is a large Sainsbury's, which is the closest supermarket. It is about 5 mins by car.
High Hawsker has a pub (The Hare & Hounds) which also serves excellent food. Other places to eat can be found in Whitby and Robin Hoods Bay.
