Hambleton House is a delightful Grade ll listed cottage in the very heart of Malton, widely known as the ‘foodie’ capital of North Yorkshire. It is close to the North Yorkshire Moors National Park and on the edge of the Howardian Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. This is a superb cottage which has been lovingly renovated and retains many of its original features. It is ideal for a romantic break away or for family and friends wishing to explore this magical part of North Yorkshire.
Step inside and feel the history of this lovely cottage. Relax in the snug living room in front of the welcoming wood burner and enjoy a movie on the flatscreen TV. The kitchen has everything you require to cook up a tasty breakfast or a delicious home cooked meal should you wish to enjoy an evening in. Traditional cottage stairs wind up to the first floor where you will find the house bathroom offering both bath and shower options.
Opposite is a double bedroom with brass bedframe. The original features shine through in this room with the original hearth stone still in place and the wooden floor painstakingly restored by the owners. Once again take the wood panelled winding staircase to the second floor and find a further double and single room; the single room offers lovely views across the town’s roof tops to the church beyond and both rooms retain the original wood floors. All three rooms are beautifully presented and have a real cosy cottage feel; the deep filled mattresses and luxury bedding will guarantee you a great nights sleep; even the windows to the front of the house have been fitted with acoustic glass. Nothing has been too much trouble with this renovation.
Step outside into the heart of Malton. Within yards you will find a plethora of independent tea rooms, delis, pubs, restaurants, and shops selling all manner of foods and products.
Enjoy a morning coffee in the town square or an afternoon pint watching the locals go about their daily lives. Only a 5 minute drive away is the iconic Castle Howard, home to ITV’s Brideshead Revisited and more recently Netflix’s series, Bridgerton. Malton sits on the edge of the Howardian Hills which offers some of the best cycle routes in the area and miles of rolling paths to explore. A little further afield is the historic city of York and the majestic beauty of the North Yorkshire Moors National Park. The coastal towns of Whitby and Scarborough are also under an hour’s drive away. An added bonus with this town centre cottage is the private reserved space for you at a local hotel just a few yards down the street. Hambleton House is the perfect cottage for your break away, whether it be for a cycling or walking holiday, romantic break or a family and friends holiday. It will certainly leave you wishing to retur
