Situated in the heart of the vibrant market town of Pickering, this charming cottage has been lovingly restored with great care and attention to detail. Visitors can now enjoy all modern day facilities amidst the ambience of a traditional country cottage. The beamed living room has a lovely multi-fuel burner, perfect for relaxing after day’s out walking or sightseeing. Perfect for a family holiday, the owner has provided a number of baby/toddler items, including a dining chair booster seat, highchair, travel cot, mattress and mattress protector (please bring own fitted sheet), a single child’s step, a bed guard to fit a single bed and plastic children’s cups, cutlery and tableware.
A stairgate for the first floor is also available. As well as this all the bedding is synthetic and non-allergenic, allowing you to get a full night’s shut-eye without any allergy flare-ups. On the doorstep there are numerous independent shops, street market, restaurants, pubs and cafés alongside historic attractions and museums, including the medieval castle, the stunning Saxon church with its 15th century wall paintings and Beck Isle Museum. The famous steam train departs from Pickering, transporting visitors on a scenic journey through ’Heartbeat Country’ to the ancient fishing port of Whitby.
This area is excellent for both walkers and cyclists, with miles of beautiful walks through the North York Moors National Park and Dalby Forest. Family fun can be found at the Go Ape Adventure Centre and Flamingo Land and there are miles of sandy beaches along the Heritage Coast. Explore the smugglers coves at Staithes and Robin Hood’s Bay and the traditional seaside resorts at Scarborough, Whitby and Filey.
