This exceptional coastal hideaway is only a literal stone’s throw away from the sea. On stormy days you can watch the waves in wonder from the comfort of the living room, which is complete with a wood burner to ensure you have a cosy and atmospheric stay. Bute Cottage was once the tumble-down remains of a fisherman’s cottage, which has been lovingly transformed into this incredible holiday home. It boasts some unique authentic features, such as the mantle beam over the double-sided stove, which is a reclaimed ship’s mast, and the ancient well beneath the cottage which has been preserved under the glass flooring in the hallway.
Although all on the ground floor, the property is tiered with a step down from the kitchen to the living room and a step up to the bedrooms. At the very front of the cottage boasting views of the vast open sea from thebay windows is the living room, with the kitchen and dining room in the centre and the heart of the cottage.

The kitchen is well equipped, with integrated appliances and everything you could desire to make hearty home cooked meals. There is a modern, stylish shower room and two beautifully presented, inviting bedrooms. You have a double as well as a master bedroom with zip and link super kingsize bed which can make 2ft 6in twin beds on request, making this property ideal for either two couples, families or even friends. Bute Cottage has an enclosed patio at the rear which is sure to delight, here you have the hot tub, where you can soak all of your worries away. There is also a storage area for your bikes, surfboards and other outdoor equipment, plus the luxury of a heated doggy shower! Your furry friends have the warmest welcome here.
The beach is a doggy haven, with many dog-friendly cafes and bars nearby.

The town’s attractions are all within easy reach, with the nearest pubs, shops, cafés and restaurants less than a two-minute walk away. For younger family members you also have all the fun of a traditional seaside holiday with the arcades.
For keen hikers the Cleveland Way walking trail connects the nearby coastal destinations of Saltburn, Skinningrove, Staithes, Runswick Bay, Sandsend, Whitby and beyond. There are some glorious beaches and bays to discover, as well as quaint fishing villages. You also have the North York Moors National Park just 10 minutes away, with ancient forests and rolling moorland. With your own private parking bay, you can hop in the car to explore the beautiful Yorkshire coastline, you are spoilt for choice with places to visit – just make sure you bring your camera!
