This romantic, detached cottage boasts traditional features including exposed wooden beams, feature brick walls and wood floors in both the living room, dining room and kitchen. Tasteful contemporary additions such as a Freeview TV in the living room and a bespoke handmade kitchen add to the comforts, yet blend in beautifully with the traditional furniture such as period-style dresser and pine dining table. The living room has a light and airy feel with a beautiful south-facing bay window along with a wood burner, ideal for cosy nights in. Upstairs, both bedrooms have a cosy, tranquil ambience and have been thoughtfully furnished with your comfort in mind. Each have good sized windows with unblemished pastoral views over the adjacent fields and farmland, and the rooms still host decorative original fireplaces, exposed wooden beams and traditional style solid doors.
The bathroom on the ground floor is spacious and incorporates a corner bath with shower over.
Situated on the edge of the North York Moors National Park, Yew Tree Cottage is in an idyllic setting. Forming part of the Derwent Mill estate, it sits on the edge of the owner farm with sheep and horses, looking on to open fields and paddocks. Stone walls feature throughout the area, one of which encloses the yard to the front of the cottage. To rear is a generously sized, private, outdoor area, with wooden decking, garden furniture and uninterrupted views towards Ayton Castle. This lovely cottage is also ideally located for walkers or cyclists with great trails right on the doorstep.
Cycling is also very popular in the area as this forms part of the Tour de Yorkshire route.
The traditional seaside resort of Scarborough is just 4½ miles away with its North and South Bays, Alpamare Waterpark and Peasholm Park, as well as the Open Air Theatre hosting many international concerts. Dalby Forest is close by with cycle trails for all abilities and is home to the World Cup Trail, a challenging 4-mile route, or for beginners, there are plenty more leisurely routes. The cottage is an ideal base to visit all that Yorkshire has to offer from the North York Moors to the beautiful east coast, and coarse fishing available on the River Derwent. Beach 4½ miles.
