Belle Vue Cabin is a lovely, cosy terraced property situated just a short walk from the centre of this ever popular holiday destination. With a comfortable open plan living area, there is plenty of space for two to relax after a day of exploration in the town, along the Yorkshire Heritage Coast or in the surrounding North York Moors National Park. The bedroom has wooden walls and ceiling, giving it the look of an old ship’s cabin, perfectly in keeping with Whitby’s links to maritime history, Captain Cook and his ship, The Endeavour, which is anchored in the harbour. There is also a separate utility room within the building, which is accessed via some steps and which houses the washing machine as well as providing storage for bikes.
Whitby is home to 3 miles of golden sands where you will als find the Cleveland Way. This famous walking route stretches along cliff tops and down into some of the coast’s hidden gems such as Staithes, Runswick Bay and Sandsend.

The Cinder Track caters for both walkers and cyclists and forms part of the National Cycle Route (Belle Vue Cabin conveniently has a bike store). The town itself has a growing foodie scene with restaurants and bistros offering all kinds of cuisine through to tea rooms and award-winning fish and chip shops. There are plenty of traditional pubs around the town with live music and ales, as well as independent shops offering Jetstone jewellery and Gothic clothing. Bram Stoker’s famous Dracula is said to have been inspired in Whitby, with the vampire first coming ashore here from Transylvania in the guise of a black dog that bounded up the 199 steps to the famous abbey. There are regular festivals and events taking place throughout the year such as the Goth Weekender twice a year, steam punk festivals, a regatta and a folk week to name just a few.

Head inland on foot, car, bus or even by steam train to explore the beauty of the North York Moors National Park. There is plenty on offer such as National Heritage buildings and waterfalls, or head out to sea in search of whales and dolphins. Other places to visit include the traditional seaside town of Scarborough with its two huge bays, an open air theatre with international acts in the summer, Peasholm Park and its naval battle, a water park and the Sealife Centre. The walled city of York is just a short drive away with its Jorvik Viking Centre, National Railway Museum and a myriad of shops, bars and restaurants within the city walls. Beach 200 yards. Shop, pub and restaurant 50 yards
