With a large enclosed garden complete with decking, where you can sit and take in the incredible views all the way to Whitby Abbey up on the headland. The sunrises here are worth waking up for, as the sea can be lit up with hues of purples, pinks and oranges. Stepping inside through the conservatory doors you have a generous open plan living area with a stone flagged floor underfoot complete with underfloor heating as well as spectacular open beamed ceilings above you.
Just a 15 minute walk away you have the golden Sandsend beach, which stretches for over 2 miles between Sandsend and neighbouring Whitby, forming part of the Cleveland Way walking route.

The Cleveland Way connects some of the most beautiful coastal towns and villages in North Yorkshire including Sandsend, Staithes, Runswick Bay, Robin Hoods Bay, Ravenscar and Scarborough, which are all delightful for a day of exploring, each with their own character and charm. Sandsend is a gorgeous little coastal village and at low tide you have a vast expanse of soft sand, whilst at high tide on stormy days the waves are spectacular. In the village there are some wonderful cafés, a small local shop and a friendly local pub as well as a popular restaurant complete with gardens adorned with strings of lights, where you can enjoy your fish and chips out in the fresh sea air.
There is a surf school nearby where you can join the many surfers, paddle boarders or kayakers, or simply relax and take in the wonderful scenery.

You are surrounded by the North York Moors National Park and you can explore on foot, by car or even by steam train. The heritage railway runs from Whitby to Pickering and stops at some beautiful villages along the way, you may recognise Goathland from the TV series ’Heartbeat’ or from Harry Potter as the location was used as ’Hogsmeade’.
Whitby draws guests from around the world, its cobbled old town road lined with quirky independent shops and cafés is charming, with the iconic abbey atop the cliff. There is so much to see and do, you are sure to want to return both to the area as well as The Byre.
