Two miles from the city centre, these renovated, spacious 18th century farm buildings stand around a large landscaped courtyard amid open fields. Reached by a 200 yard private drive, they make an excellent holiday base for visiting the city, whilst returning to a country retreat. The city of York offers a variety of attractions - the ancient minster, city walls and beautiful architecture, together with a variety of museums, including the National Railway Museum, Castle Museum and Jorvik Viking Centre.

The cobbled streets be-decked with flowers, home to many street artistes, house many interesting specialist shops, restaurants and bars and an open street market, sometimes visited by continental markets. Alternatively take a leisurely trip along the river, stopping at riverside inns. Two golf courses, a sports centre, Waterworld theme swimming pool, theatres, multi cinema complex, bowling alley, all lie within two miles, and there is a large playing field with football nets in the grounds.

Racing at York, Thirsk, Ripon, Wetherby and Beverley. Castle Howard with open air summer concerts, 10 miles and the North Yorkshire Moors steam railway at Pickering, 25 miles which crosses the beautiful heather clad moors to Goathland (the Aidensfield of ’Heartbeat’) and Grosmont. Ancient seaport of Whitby with picturesque harbour and golden sands, 45 miles. Scarborough and Filey 40 miles. Shops 1 mile, pub 200 yard
