Bay Cottage
1 bedroom, sleeps 2

After exploring King’s Lynn, Sandringham, Ely or the Norfolk coast, return to this lovely property and relax in the private wood-fired hot tub.

Bay Cottage has been superbly renovated by the owner, who lives next door, to provide spacious and comfortable holiday accommodation, with the additional benefit of a wood-fired hot tub. This detached annexe is situated in the rural village of Boughton, close to the large village pond with its ducks, and there is plenty to see and do throughout this area of west Norfolk. The moated manor house of Oxborough Hall is nearby, as are the Fens, Ely and the Royal Estate at Sandringham, which is 37 miles away and is regularly used by the Royal family.

The north Norfolk coastline, with its famous sandy beaches, the Broads and Norwich, are all a short drive.

For those who enjoy a visit to the beach whilst on holiday, the resorts of Hunstanton, 29 miles, and Heacham, 26 miles, boast sandy beaches and an array of traditional seaside activities and attractions for all ages. Hunstanton offers lively seasonal entertainment, a Sea Life Centre and cliff-top golf course. Other beaches can be found at Brancaster, 33 miles, and Holkham, 37 miles. Heacham is home to Norfolk Lavender, and visitors can enjoy guided tours of the expanse of lavender fields and watch the harvesting in summer.

To the south, lies Ely, with its cathedral, Saturday market, array of gift shops and a pretty waterfront with boat hire. The Pensthorpe Nature Reserve and the Thursford Collection are nearby, and King’s Lynn also offers an excellent day out, with its medieval buildings including the churches and Guild Hall, as well as the 17th-century Custom House. For the more energetic, there are many walks and cycle routes throughout this area. Beach 25 miles. Shop 1½ miles, pub and restaurant 2 miles.
