Newhaven (UK34796), a semi-detached cottage and Little Newhaven (UK34795), a detached lodge lie in the historic town of King’s Lynn. Bursting with history, the town was originally known as ‘Lin’ and is thought to have derived its name from the Celtic word for a lake or pool and it is recorded that a large tidal lake originally covered this area. Famous for the Hanseatic and Old Quarters, you can join walking tours here and may even have a ghostly encounter or two. There is lot to explore in this town. Stroll along the river and you will find the Green Quay, housed in the beautifully converted Marriott’s Warehouse. This discovery centre highlights the unique wildlife of The Wash. Further along the river, you will come across the magnificent Custom House which houses rotating exhibitions and a free maritime museum on the first floor. You will also find opportunitiesfor riverside dining and the town itself has lots of great places to eat whatever your taste or price point.

Explore a little further however and find a host of attractions.
History buffs who have whet their appetite in Kings Lynn will be pleased to discover the Sandringham and Holkham Estates, Houghton Hall, Castle Acre, Peckover House, Creake Abbey, Castle Rising castle and Oxburgh Hall within easy reach. The medieval city of Norwich with its famous Norman Castle is also worth a visit and you can be there in under an hour. Coast lovers and families alike should head to Hunstanton, known to the locals as ‘Sunny Hunny’ as it really does seem to have its own micro-climate. Famed for its striped cliffs and excellent beach, Hunstanton is ideal for playing on the sand, exploring rock pools, and enjoying the sea.
The town’s excellent award-winning gardens are ideal for an afternoon stroll.

With the traditional entertainment venue of the Princess Theatre, a funfair, Sea Life Sanctuary, boat trips into the Wash, pony rides and all the other elements of an excellent family resort, Hunstanton is the perfect base to enjoy the coast. Also great for families are Church Farm with lots of friendly farm animals, indoor and outdoor play areas, tractor rides and lots more and Extreme Adventure, which is a high ropes course, built in some of the tallest trees in Eastern England. The area is also packed with craft centres and art galleries along with golf courses, fishing opportunities and a host of great places to eat, drink and shop. And after a busy day, head back to Newhaven House or Little Newhaven, get a great night sleep and wake refreshed to face adventures new.
