The barn is right next to a footpath which links to an enormous network of walks, including Offa’s Dyke and the Wye Valley Walk. Hopewell Barn would suit families or friends and your four-legged friends are welcome too – plenty of space for them to run around in the grounds and adjoining fields.
There is great garden space with two paved areas perfect to enjoy alfresco dining or BBQ. The property is nestled in the village of Hewelsfield and there is plenty to see and do in the surrounding area. This border territory is marked by stunning scenery and has brooding castles at Chepstow and Raglan, Tintern Abbey is just a mile from the property and certainly worth a visit.
Explore the market towns of Abergavenny with the annual food festival and superb walks to be had. Monmouth has lots of cafés, restaurants and shops to meander around or enjoy excellent walking in the Forest of Dean and along the riverbank. This is a perfect base from which to visit nearby attractions which include Clearwell Caves, The Secret Forest, Puzzlewood, Perry Grove Steam Railway, the sculpture trail and a railway museum.
The Forest of Dean has always been a huge draw for cyclists with some wonderful routes. Fishing, horse riding, cycling and canoeing are readily available nearby. Areas within easy reach also include Beechenhurst and Mallards Pike. Symonds Yat is a popular destination for ornithologists due to the presence of nesting peregrine falcons. Fancy a day at the races, then Chepstow’s racecourse is a short drive, for the golfers amongst you there are some excellent golf courses nearby. The area is wonderful for sightseeing and touring, and easily accessible all year round. Whatever your day brings Hopewell Barn will be a welcome return.
