High in the hamlet of Riber in the shadow of the castle just outside Matlock and surrounded by tranquil rolling countryside, The Stables is situated in the grounds of the privately-owned Riber Hall, and is inclusive of a beautiful garden with heated furnished terrace. Ideal for a socially distanced get together, all 10 bedrooms have door locks and are self-contained with bathroom and a mini kitchen, the huge garden has lots of space for an outdoor get-together with moveable tables and chairs, indoor the communal areas also make it possible to socially distance.
There are ten en-suite bedrooms of 17 to 40 square metres, equipped with Sony LCD TVs, dining areas with a hostess trolley and chandeliers which light the two marble dining tables and micro kitchens with combination microwave oven, fridge, kettle/toaster and Wedgwood china.
The communal kitchen/dining room and living area/conservatory, which is accessed via an uncovered walkway in the garden, provides the perfect place to get all your party together for dining, socialising and relaxing. For days out there is plenty to do and see. In the neighbouring village of Holloway is the former home of Florence Nightingale whilst down in the Derwent Valley at Cromford, the World Heritage Site boasts the world’s first water-powered cotton-spinning factories, built by Sir Richard Arkwright and Jedediah Strutt.
Just under four miles is the delightful town of Matlock Bath boasting smart riverside cafés and bars slotted in between more traditional pubs, restaurants, tea shops, ice-cream parlours and plenty of restaurants. Here visitors can also sample a ride to The Heights of Abraham by cable car and admire the views of ‘Little Switzerland’ as Byron once described this area.
