Oil central heating, electricity, bed linen and towels included. Initial logs for wood burner included.

Originally the waiting room located on the platform of Bardon Mill train station, this historic property has been transformed to offer an unusual self catering holiday let for couples. Adjacent to the Station House this quirky cottage faces onto the Newcastle to Carlisle railway line.  This pet friendly accommodation is spacious and conveniently all on ground floor level. The ample windows in the open plan living/dining/kitchen space floods the room with natural light and a wood burning stove at one end and an open fire at the other ensures this is a cosy retreat regardless of the season. The double bedroom at the far end of the building has an en suite shower room and there is an extra separate bathroom too.


A friendly greeting regularly meets visitors to the picturesque village of Bardon Mill where the A69 is within easy reach giving easy opportunities to explore this historic region by car. Or why not take the train conveniently only footsteps away! Bardon Mill in on the Newcastle/Carlisle railway line with a stopping service in each direction every 2 hours.   Haydon Bridge offers ample facilities only 4 miles east and Haltwhistle, geographically acknowledged as ’the Centre of Britain’ and has many amenities including several shops, restaurants, a sports centre and an outdoor swimming pool, equidistant west. The historic market town of Hexham, dominated by its majestic abbey offers an abundance of amenities 11 miles east.


Visit the vibrant city of Newcastle around 30 miles east or Carlisle is 27 miles west, therefore making Bardon Mill Waiting Room a unique rural idyll as well as being a superb base for those seeking to explore the historic charms of Hadrian’s Wall Country coupled with easy access to visit the Lake District too.
