Close to the many sandy beaches, coast and visitor attractions, Marley’s Retreat is set in the centre of the pretty little village of Holywell. With two friendly village pubs (one 50 yards) and beautiful walks from the doorstep down into the Dene and along the river which is seen from the rear windows of the apartment. This comfortable apartment is the perfect base for exploring and set only 3 miles to the fabulous sandy bay and sea at Seaton Sluice, a wonderful unspoilt beach ideal for those who like a little peace and quiet.


Nearby Whitley Bay is home to the fabulous Spanish City, the iconic building which has been renovated to provide a lovely champagne bar and restaurants. Stroll along the wide promenade where you can walk right along the stretch of coast to Cullercoats and onto Tynemouth, all with fabulous places to eat and drink. Whitley Bay is wonderful for families of all ages, still retaining some old-fashioned seaside charm, whilst Tynemouth has some amazing restaurants and bars, a Sealife Centre, The ancient Abbey, hidden coves, and highly rated beaches perfect for surfing and rock pooling.


Nearby, catch a bus or metro if you want to leave your car behind perhaps spend a day in Newcastle, a city of culture and entertainment where you will receive a warm Geordie welcome. Travel north for a day trip further into Northumberland and discover some of the castles and historic sites peppered along the coast. Inland, visit Hadrian’s Wall or the Northumberland National Park famed for its dark skie
