Nestled on the cusp of the traditional fishing village of Seahouses, Sand Castles is a spacious, detached holiday property offering generous living space suitable for friends and family gatherings. Situated in a quiet cul-de-sac, the property has a large living room with a cosy wood burner and patio doors leading out to the rear garden. The kitchen/dining room is contemporary in style and there is a convenient snug giving additional living space. All four bedrooms are on the first floor, the master being en-suite, and there is a family bathroom too.

Seahouses offers a wide array of facilities including tea rooms, restaurants, pubs, shops and a golf course, all within a mile from Sand Castles. Boat trips tothe Farne Islands run from the nearby harbour, which are famous for their nesting seabirds and grey seal colonies.

Horse riding is available in North Sunderland, around a mile away. The picture postcard village of Bamburgh, protected by its dramatic fortress, is only 2 miles north with its wide expanse of golden, and often empty, sandy beaches, and where the tidal island of Lindisfarne, locally known as Holy Island and the birth place of Christianity, can be viewed. A further 2 miles up the coastline brings you to Waren Mill, which is steeped in history. Once an important port, its harbour has long since disappeared, silted up beneath the sands of the estuary. Visit the bird sanctuary at Budle Bay, where at low tide a vast expanse of mudflats is home to countless sea and land birds, making this a haven for birdwatchers.

The sweep of golden sands at Beadnell Bay is popular with watersport enthusiasts, just 2 miles south, and the elegant Georgian town of Berwick, which straddles the salmon-rich River Tweed, is 17 miles north. The market town of Alnwick, with its castle, offers many facilities a few miles inland. Alnwick Garden is a popular visitor attraction, with its restaurant in the largest tree house in Europe, and its grand cascade waterfall. Sand Castles makes an excellent base from which to explore this stunning heritage coastline, designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Beach 200 yards. Shop, pub and restaurant ½ mile.
