Upstairs the bedrooms and bathrooms are all furnished to a high standard with a variety of sleeping arrangements. The property is conveniently situated just 100 yards from the harbour and is directly on the Coastal Cycle Route and there is bike storage available in the rear yard. Amble known as the friendliest port in Northumberland, is close to beautiful beaches and many nearby attractions.
It still has a working fishing harbour and makes for a lively and interesting place to stay. There are boat trips out to Coquet Island, managed by the RSPB to see the puffins and roseate terns and there are also seals around the island and sometimes you will see them in the harbour. The high street is peppered with independent shops and tea rooms and there is a local Sunday market situated on the harbour and a small harbour village housing mini shopping pods each with something different to buy.
The little beach has some pretty beach huts you can rent for a few pounds from the harbour master and there are superb restaurants nearby, some specialising in seafood. On a summers day you can sit outside the fish restaurants in the harbour, enjoying a glass of wine and taking in the view and bustling ambience. The picture postcard village of Warkworth is just a couple of miles away, with it’s historic castle dominating the skyline.
Enjoy riverside walks or amble down the high street where you will find shops, galleries, coffee shops and restaurants. Amble sits at the start of the Northumberland Heritage Coast Area Of Outstanding Natural Beauty, from here you can travel on up to Seahouses, a typical seaside village, or Bamburgh with a large castle open to the public in the summer. Just a few miles away is Alnwick Castle, used in some Harry Potter and Downton Abbey scenes, or the stunning Alnwick gardens. Wander around some of the cobbled streets and have a coffee in Barter Books, one of the largest book stores in England and well worth a visit. Travel down the coast to Tynemouth and Whitley Bay, where a pretty promenade stretches along for lovely walks with plenty of wine bars and bistros to visit. There is something for everyone in this diverse county, whether it be coast or country. Beach 500 yards. Shop, pub and restaurant 500 yard
Can't make your mind up - village cottage or seaside holiday cottage? North East England is tourists heaven. Couples will find dog friendly breaks in Coastal towns, villages and beaches in the North East, Culture and things to do in Newcastle or Visit Durham and North Pennines - some have hot tubs.
